Welcome to CinART Ceramics. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of our website, products, services and mobile pottery lessons. By using our website, booking a lesson or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. About Us

CinART Ceramics is a UK based ceramics studio specialising in handcrafted ceramic pieces, bespoke commissions and private mobile pottery lessons.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, "we", "our" and "us" refer to CinART Ceramics. "You" and "your" refer to the customer, participant or website visitor.

2. Eligibility

By using our website or services, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

  • The information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Products

Each ceramic piece is individually handcrafted.

As a result:

  • Variations in size, colour, glaze, texture and finish are natural.

  • Product photographs are for illustrative purposes only.

  • Colours may vary depending on screen settings.

  • No two pieces are identical.

These characteristics are part of the handmade process and are not considered defects.

4. Bespoke & Commissioned Pieces

We accept commissions for bespoke ceramic work.

Before production begins:

  • Design details will be agreed.

  • Estimated production times will be provided.

  • Quotations remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Once production has started, changes may not be possible.

Unless faulty or incorrectly supplied, bespoke and personalised items cannot normally be cancelled or refunded.

5. Orders

All orders are subject to acceptance.

We reserve the right to:

  • Decline an order.

  • Cancel an order.

  • Limit quantities.

  • Request additional verification where necessary.

An order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order.

A contract is formed only when your order has been accepted and dispatched.

6. Pricing

All prices are displayed in Pound Sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without notice.

The price charged will be the price shown at the time of purchase.

Obvious pricing errors may be corrected before an order is accepted.

7. Payment

Full payment is required before products are dispatched or lessons are confirmed unless otherwise agreed.

Payments are processed securely by third party payment providers.

CinART Ceramics does not store full payment card details.

8. Shipping & Delivery

Delivery times are estimates only.

Delays may occur due to production schedules, courier services, customs procedures or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Risk passes to the customer upon delivery.

Ownership transfers only after full payment has been received.

9. International Orders

International customers are responsible for any import duties, customs charges, taxes or clearance fees applicable in their country.

10. Inspecting Your Order

Please inspect your order upon delivery.

If an item arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible with:

  • Your order number.

  • A description of the issue.

  • Clear photographs of the product and packaging.

11. Returns & Refunds

Our Returns Policy forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain unaffected.

Custom made, personalised and bespoke products are generally non-refundable unless faulty.

Returned items should normally be unused and returned in their original condition.

12. Handmade Characteristics

Handmade ceramics naturally include:

  • Glaze variation.

  • Iron speckles.

  • Surface texture.

  • Pinholes.

  • Slight dimensional variation.

  • Minor glaze movement.

These characteristics reflect the handmade nature of ceramics and are not faults.

13. Product Care

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Handle ceramics carefully.

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes.

  • Follow any care instructions supplied.

  • Do not continue using damaged ceramics.

14. Mobile Pottery Lessons

All pottery lessons are delivered as private mobile sessions at the participant's home or another location agreed in advance.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that the teaching location is clean, safe, adequately ventilated and suitable for pottery instruction.

CinART Ceramics reserves the right to postpone or discontinue a lesson where the environment is considered unsafe or unsuitable.

15. Lesson Bookings

Lesson bookings are confirmed only after full payment has been received unless otherwise agreed.

Booking confirmations will be sent by email.

It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that booking information is accurate.

16. Materials and Equipment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all materials, tools and equipment required for the lessons are to be supplied by the participant.

This may include:

  • Clay.

  • Pottery tools.

  • Glazes.

  • Brushes.

  • Work surfaces.

  • Protective coverings.

  • Cleaning materials.

  • Kiln hire or firing services.

CinART Ceramics will provide professional recommendations regarding suitable materials, suppliers, equipment and kiln hire services. These recommendations are offered in good faith and do not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any third party supplier or service.

17. Workspace Requirements

Participants must provide an appropriate workspace before each lesson.

The workspace should:

  • Be clean and accessible.

  • Have adequate lighting.

  • Provide sufficient working space.

  • Have access to running water where reasonably practicable.

  • Be free from hazards.

CinART Ceramics reserves the right to postpone or cancel a lesson if the workspace is unsuitable.

18. Access to the Property

Participants are responsible for ensuring that the instructor has safe and reasonable access to the property at the agreed lesson time.

Where access cannot be provided, the lesson may be treated as a late cancellation.

19. Arrival and Attendance

Participants should be ready at the agreed lesson start time.

Late starts caused by the participant will not extend the scheduled lesson.

Failure to attend without prior notice may result in the lesson being forfeited without refund.

20. Cancellation by Participants

If you need to cancel a lesson, please notify us as soon as possible.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • More than 14 days before the lesson: a full refund or one transfer to another available date may be offered.

  • Between 7 and 14 days before the lesson: one transfer may be offered but refunds are generally unavailable.

  • Less than 7 days before the lesson: refunds and transfers are not normally available.

21. Cancellation by CinART Ceramics

CinART Ceramics reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to illness, severe weather, equipment failure or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Participants will be offered either:

  • A full refund.

  • An alternative lesson date.

22. Minimum Age Requirements

Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless otherwise agreed.

Different age requirements may apply to family lessons.

23. Health & Safety

Participants agree to follow all instructions provided during the lesson.

Suitable clothing should be worn, as clay and glazes may stain fabrics.

CinART Ceramics reserves the right to end a lesson without refund where behaviour presents a safety risk.

24. Allergies and Medical Conditions

Participants should inform CinART Ceramics before the lesson of any allergies, respiratory conditions, mobility requirements or other medical conditions that may affect participation.

Pottery activities involve clay, glaze materials and ceramic dust.

25. Personal Belongings

Participants remain responsible for their own personal belongings.

CinART Ceramics accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property.

26. Storage of Work

As lessons take place at the participant's premises, all ceramic work remains the participant's responsibility between lessons.

Work should be stored appropriately to minimise drying defects or accidental damage.

27. Kiln and Firing

CinART Ceramics does not provide kiln facilities unless expressly agreed in writing.

Participants are responsible for arranging kiln hire or firing services.

We are happy to recommend kiln providers where requested, however we accept no responsibility for third party firing services.

Ceramics may naturally crack, warp, develop glaze imperfections or fail during drying or firing. These are recognised characteristics of the ceramic process and are outside the control of CinART Ceramics.

28. Cleaning Responsibilities

Participants are responsible for cleaning the workspace and safely storing materials after each lesson unless otherwise agreed.

Guidance on cleaning ceramic materials will be provided where necessary.

29. Pets and Household Environment

Participants should ensure that pets, young children or other distractions do not interfere with the safe delivery of the lesson.

Where the environment prevents safe or effective teaching, CinART Ceramics reserves the right to end the lesson without refund.

30. Photography

CinART Ceramics may photograph completed work for use on our website, social media or promotional materials.

Participants who do not wish their work to be photographed should inform us before the lesson begins.

31. Intellectual Property

All teaching materials, demonstrations, guides, handouts and educational content remain the intellectual property of CinART Ceramics.

These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, recorded or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

Participants retain ownership of the ceramic pieces they create.

32. Behaviour

We are committed to providing a welcoming, respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Abusive, discriminatory, threatening or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the immediate termination of the lesson without refund.

33. Damage Disclaimer

Participants are responsible for protecting furniture, flooring and work surfaces before the lesson begins.

While every reasonable care will be taken, CinART Ceramics accepts no responsibility for damage arising from unsuitable working conditions, inadequate protection of surfaces or the participant's handling of materials and equipment.

34. Website Availability

While we aim to keep our website available at all times, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
